Apex Legends is one of the most fast-paced battle royale games developed by EA. It has been more than three years since the release of the game. EA recently released the mobile version of the game called Apex Legends Mobile, but one thing lacking in the Apex Eco System is the Cross Progression system, which players have been requesting for quite a long time.

Cross Progression allows players to have a single account and carry the progression on all the available platforms. Currently, Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4/ 5, Xbox Consoles, and Nintendo Switch, whereas Apex Legends Mobile is a whole different game.

Earlier in 2020, EA announced Apex Legends on Steam, allowing players to link their Steam and Origin accounts.

EA has commented multiple times regarding introducing cross-progression, but according to Chad Grenier, Former Gamer Director, “A lot of people have accounts on various platforms, and trying to figure out the best way to pick or merge account data is a challenge with many pros and cons.

We’re certainly looking into cross-progression, and it’s that I think would be great for the game, but it’s still a ways off most likely.”

Before I go full vacation mode.. What do you guys wanna see us do in 2022 for apex or go deeper on?

Although cross-progression is on the radar of the game developers, according to them, it is more difficult than expected, and most likely, cross-progression will be introduced in 2022, as per the Twitter post made by Josh Medina, Producer in 2021.

Cross Progression was in active development for the team, but the recent attacks from the hackers in Titanfall and Apex Legends led to the delay for the same. As of yet, there is no official information from Respawn Entertainment or EA regarding the introduction of cross-progression in Apex Legends.

As of now, you can only have cross-progression across the same platforms meaning you can have the same accounts to play across PlayStation Consoles, Xbox Consoles, and Nintendo Switch. Although, cross-play has been introduced since the release of the game.

If you are wondering what about Apex Legends Mobile, as mentioned earlier, it is a whole different game and doesn’t allow matching from other platforms.
