City of Star can now help you get a passport

The Star City Clerk's Office is ready to assist you in your application for a U.S. Passport, according to a Facebook post.

Applications for passports are available from the City Clerk’s Office on the 2nd Floor of Star City Hall at 10769 West State Street in Star.

Passports will be accepted Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. via appointment only.

To obtain a passport, you must come into the Clerk’s Office in person. You will need:

1. Completed, but unsigned, passport application (DS-11). It must be signed in the presence of an authorized Passport Acceptance Agent in the City Clerk’s office.

2. Two identical 2”x2” passport photos. These must have been taken in the last six months and have a light background. (Star City Hall does offer passport photo services for an additional charge of $25.00 - Payable to the City of Star in addition to all other fees)

3. Birth certificate with a raised seal, issued by the state where applicant was born. Hospital certificates and birth abstracts are not acceptable. If you are a naturalized citizen, you must bring your original naturalization papers. All original documents that are sent with your application are returned to you with your passport.

4. Current driver’s license or some other form of photo ID.
