Molokai cultural practitioner and co-owner of Maui Grown 808 LLP, U’i Kahue, makes a lei po’o Friday afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua’s Celebration of the Arts. The theme for the 31st annual tribute to Hawaiian culture, language and arts is “He Aha Ko’u Kuleana — What is My Responsibility.”

More than 60 of the state’s top artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers and entertainers are participating in the two-day event that concludes Saturday.

A full slate of events are scheduled throughout the day Saturday, including volunteer planting activities, a screening of Ken Burgmaier’s short film on the 30th anniversary of the event and the Carmen Hulu Lindsey Leo Ha’iha’i Falsetto Contest. Sunday Easter brunch will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton’s Ulana Terrace.
