Romeo Santos is a Spanish-American singer, songwriter, actor, and producer. He is recognized as one of the most influential bachata artists. Performing as lead vocalist to the bachata group, Aventura, he became an icon in the Latin music world. In 2002, Aventura’s single “Obsesion” charted in various countries and eventually clinched a few #1 spots. In 2011, his solo debut album “Formula Vol. 1” became one of the most successful Latin albums of that time. He also made his Hollywood debut in the 2015 action film “Furious 7.” Given the name, Anthony Santos, he was born on July 21, 1981, in Bronx, New York. In 1999, Romeo Santos’ career took off after Los Teenagers inked a contract with Premium Latin Records. Assuming a new name, Aventura, the group fused Dominican-style bachata with hip hop and R&B. Within a decade, the group released 5 studio albums and several live albums. They unleashed a staggering amount of hit singles and sold out numerous music venues. In 2002, one of their hottest singles “Obsesion”, from the album “We Broke the Rules”, granted them worldwide fame. The song topped many international charts and graced mainstream airwaves. Aventura became one of the most popular Latin youth groups at the time. Other international juggernauts include Los Infieles, Un Beso, El Perdedor, Dile Al Amor, and Por Un Segundo, amongst others.

In 2011, after many successful years, the group announced that they would be taking a break from group projects. Breaking landmarks and setting trends, he sold out Madison Square Garden multiple times. In 2014, he would repeat the feat; captivating fans at the Yankee Stadium. That year, Santos released “Formula Vol. 2.” The album ranked amongst the best-selling Latin album of 2014. His project includes collaboration with Nicki Minaj, Drake, Carlos Santana, Kevin Hart, Mar Anthony, and Tego Calderon. In 2017, he dropped his 3rd album “Golden.” Once again, he voiced with a wide range of artists; Ozuna, Daddy Yankee, Julio Iglesias, Nicky Jam, Jessie Reyez, and many others. In recent work, Romeo Santos’ single “Sobredosis” featuring Ozuna has gone viral on YouTube. It achieved over 40 million views in less than 2 weeks. Other noteworthy hits include Ozuna x Romeo Santos’ “El Farsante Remix.”

Away from music, Romeo Santos minor in acting. He appeared in the 2015 action film “Furious 7” alongside Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and Paul Walker. He also voiced the animated character Early Bird in The Angry Birds Movie (2016).
